AROUND THE WORLD IN 66 DAYS!!!
ONCE AGAIN IRON MAIDEN TAKES TO THE SKIES…

AND MAKES THEIR FIRST EVER VISIT TO INDONESIA!

JAKARTA STADIUM UTAMA GELORA BUNG KARNO SENAYAN, FEBRUARY 17 2011 AND

BALI GARUDA WISNU KENCANA, FEBRUARY 20 2011

Original Production is proud to welcome rock legends IRON MAIDEN on their first ever visit to Indonesia, for two concerts; The first will take place at the Stadium Utama Gelaro Bung Karno Senayan in Jakarta on 17 February, 2011 and the second show will be at the Garuda Wisnu Kencana, Bali on 20 February 2011. Both shows form part of The Final Frontier World Tour. IRON MAIDEN will be arriving in their specially customized Boeing 757 airliner Ed Force One which will be transporting band, crew and their entire 10 ton stage production 50,000 miles right around the globe and piloted by lead singer Bruce Dickinson, a qualified Airline Captain.

Commencing in Moscow on Feb 11, playing 29 shows and visiting 26 cities in thirteen countries across 5 continents, Ed Force One will land for it’s last show in Tampa, Florida exactly 66 days later.

The tour is in support of a new Maiden studio album, ‘The Final Frontier’ released in August on EMI Records (UME in the US) which has proved to be their most successful chart-wise in the band’s illustrious career to date, being the No.1 selling album in 28 countries.

Founder member and bass player Steve Harris comments. “When we found out we were due to visit Indonesia for the first time, the whole band were elated and not just because it’s such a beautiful part of the world that we can’t wait to get there! But also because we have so many loyal fans in the region wanting to see us play live, we’re really looking forward to the spectacular evening we have planned for them. We’ll be playing some songs from our new album and many of the older favourites too, and of course not forgetting Eddie, who has to be seen to be believed !

IRON MAIDEN is an international phenomena in the rock and metal world with career sales of over 85 million albums after 30 years at the forefront of Metal and a major influence on many of the successful bands who have followed them . For The Final Frontier 2011 Tour, Indonesia will experience for the first time the same extraordinary level of passion, total commitment and stunning musicianship as the band has always delivered. From the air-raid siren vocals of Bruce Dickinson, to the soaring melodies of “3 Amigos” guitarists Dave Murray, Janick Gers and Adrian Smith, all forged into one dynamic powerhouse by the thunderous rhythm section of Steve Harris on bass and Nicko McBrain on drums.

The Final Frontier World Tour 2011 will be an even more ambitious venture than the pioneering 2008/09 Somewhere Back In Time World Tour which encompassed 38 countries and saw the band perform to almost two million fans with Ed Force One circumnavigating the globe twice.

Starting off in Russia at Moscow’s Olympic Stadium, the tour then moves into the uncharted Maiden territory of Singapore and Indonesia before arriving in Australia to headline the Soundwave Festivals, for which over 130,000 tickets have already been sold. A first ever concert in South Korea follows then two nights in Tokyo, Mexico and a run of dates throughout Latin America, then Puerto Rico and a final two shows in Florida (full dates are listed below) . During this leg of The Final Frontier Tour Maiden are expected to play to over 600,000 people, prior to undertaking a massive tour of European stadiums, arenas and festivals in the Summer.

Bruce Dickinson comments “Being able to transport everything in Ed Force One for the Somewhere Back In Time Tour was like having our own magic carpet! It meant we could take the show to places we’d never been able to visit before and that was hugely exciting for all of us. So it made perfect sense to do it again for THE FINAL FRONTIER WORLD TOUR, but for 2011 we plan to push the boundaries even further. We know we have a lot of fans in Asia who’ve been waiting a very long time to see us. Logistically it just wasn’t feasible before – but now it is!”

Adds manager Rod Smallwood “When we embarked on the 2008 Tour we really had no idea just how successful it was going to be, not only from a touring aspect but also the whole Ed Force One experience! No-one had ever before attempted to transport their entire stage show, plus band and crew all contained within the one, specially adapted plane, flying right around the world. The whole operation took over two years in the planning and many people (mainly our accountants!) thought we were crazy to even try! However, it paid off as the reaction we received from everyone was simply phenomenal – from the Airport Authorities, the moment the plane first touched down on their landing strips, through to our loyal fans who had waited so long to see the band in their country. Ed Force One – breathtaking in its unique Iron Maiden livery - generated widespread, unmitigated excitement and made headline news on National TV absolutely everywhere we went!

The adventures of that unique and groundbreaking tour, both on and off stage, were captured in the award-winning DVD “Flight 666”. Released in May last year, hot on the heels of IRON MAIDEN picking up their first ever Brit award for Best British Live Act, the DVD reached the No.1 spot in the Music DVD Charts in 25 countries.

Just over a year later and in true Iron Maiden style, the band once again surpassed their own chart success with the release of their fifteenth studio album THE FINAL FRONTIER in August 2010 on EMI Records. This album reached the No.1 spot in an impressive 28 countries right around the globe; from Lebanon, Arabia and India in the East, to Canada in the West, New Zealand down south, throughout Europe and right across Latin America, as well as reaching No.1 in Billboard’s European, Tastemaker and Rock Charts and No 4 in the USA, their highest position ever. Quite an achievement for a band who first stormed the charts exactly 30 years ago with their eponymous debut album and today have 85 million album sales, close to 2000 live performances and 15 studio albums of unerring quality and power to their name.

THE FINAL FRONTIER WORLD TOUR opened in June 2010 with 25 shows in North America and scored huge box office success being one of the few tours to buck the reported downward trends of the live US market and being nominated for one of the best tours of the summer by Billboard. The band then travelled across Europe in August headlining their own stadium shows and major festivals, including Sonisphere Festivals and Germany’s Wacken Festival. Some reviews from this section of the tour are attached.

Tickets go on sale on November 15, 2010 and Presale at November 14, 2010.
AROUND THE WORLD IN 66 DAYS!! Ed Force One Back In Action For 2011

IRON MAIDEN, with their crew and many tons of equipment, will once again be boarding Ed Force One in February 2011 to fly 50,000 miles round the globe on their continuing mammoth Final Frontier World Tour, playing 29 shows and visiting 26 cities in thirteen countries across 5 continents with Bruce again in the pilot’s seat, and heading into more new Frontiers of uncharted Maiden territory!!!

The first show will be on Feb 11th in Moscow’s Olympic Stadium, after which the Boeing 757, which will have new designs to tie in with the new album and tour, will fly the band to Singapore and Indonesia for Maiden’s first ever shows there, before arriving in Australia to headline two arena dates and five Soundwave Festivals. Ed Force One then turns its attention briefly to the Northern Hemisphere with a first show ever in South Korea and two shows in Tokyo, before heading all the way across the Pacific, a journey which (believe it or not!) is 6660 miles for two shows in Mexico. An extensive series of stadium shows through five South American countries follows, including a first visit to Belem, Northern Brazil, and, via Puerto Rico, the band will play the final show on this leg of the tour in Tampa, Florida, USA on April 17th, exactly 66 days after Moscow! (full dates below)

Says Bruce, “We were taken aback by the fantastic reaction from everyone to Ed Force One during the 2008/09 World Tour. As our fans all know from the “Flight 666″ film, which documented the trials and tribulations we underwent in order to get the whole project literally off the ground, the end result was well worth all the effort and complex logistics we had to deal with! The band and crew enjoyed themselves so much travelling that way, it seemed only logical to set up this part of The Final Frontier tour in the same way so we could get to see as many fans as possible all over the World, only this time we’re pushing the boundaries even further and going to more places Maiden has never been before… in true Frontier style!! We very much look forward to playing in Singapore, Indonesia and South Korea for the first time, as well as revisiting our fans everywhere else.

“The set list will be different to this year’s tour. Of course we will play more songs from the new album and some other recent material, but we will include a healthy dose of older fan favourites as we will be playing to so many new faces who we know will want to hear those songs live for the first time. We will cram into the plane as much of the production we used this year as is physically possible, including of course Eddie, and intend to replicate the spectacular light show in as many places as we are able. All in all it promises to be a fantastic trip for everyone!! So see you all soon”.

Since its release in August on EMI (UME in the US), “The Final Frontier” — the band’s 15th studio album – has proved their most successful chart album to date, registering the #1 sales chart slot in 28 countries around the globe; from Lebanon, Arabia and India in the East, to Canada in the West, New Zealand down South, throughout UK and Europe and across Latin America, as well as reaching No.1 in Billboard’s European, Tastemaker and Rock Charts, and No.4 in the USA, which is the band’s highest position ever there.

Having already played an extensive 25 date North American Tour and some selected European shows this year, Maiden will undertake a full European Tour in the summer of 2011. Some dates (as below) have already been announced but keep an eye on this site over the next few weeks and months for many more announcements.
