Trace Adkins previously took a song about a woman's backside to No.1 with his hit, 'Honkytonk Badonkadonk,' and now, five years later, the Grammy-nominated superstar is pushing the envelope again with another suggestive song.

His new single, 'Brown Chicken Brown Cow' may sound innocent enough, but the song is actually the punch line to a sexual joke. The phrase 'brown chicken brown cow' is an onomatopoeic imitation of a guitar riff commonly used in porn movies in the '70's. And with lines like, "Now the hay needs haulin' / the hogs needs slop / The corn needs cuttin' but the tractor's stopped / They climbin' up the ladder, clear to the loft / Shuckin those dirty ol' work clothes off / Singin' brown chicken brown cow / Ain't nobody watching but the brown chicken brown cow," it's clear that Trace was not afraid to sing another song with adult-themed material.

"I kinda pushed for that to be the first single," from his new album, he tells GAC. "I said, 'Let's just throw a hand grenade in the room right off the get-go.' I said, 'It's a dangerous record. I know that, but I'm not afraid of it.' Everybody else by committee was kinda like 'Oh, I don't know about that.'"

The song is the debut single from his No.1 album, 'Cowboy's Back in Town,' on his new label, Show Dog-Universal. But while he admits he had to narrow down the songs for the album from the thousands that were sent to him, 'Brown Chicken Brown Cow' was a no-brainer. "The first time I heard this song it made me laugh," Trace tells The Boot. "They played it for me without pitching it to me to record. I just said, 'I'm putting it on my album.' That was the end of that!"

Even though Trace left his former label home, Capitol Records, after spending over 12 years on their roster and selling more than 10 million albums, he says his approach to finding songs -- funny and serious -- to record hasn't changed.

"There was really nothing that different as far as the selection of the material," Trace tells The Boot. "And nothing different than what I've been doing over the years. I'm just continuing to grow with each album."
