Pop music fans buzzed last week about the news spread from Sharon Dastur, program director of New York's Z100 radio station, that the new
Britney Spears single "Hold It Against Me" would debut on the radio this Friday, January 7, 2011. Now her manager Adam Leber has announced via Twitter that perhaps the dates are a little off. He says, "Lot of misinformation out there regarding the release of Brits 1st single. Don't believe everything you read...." However, he later promised that the single will indeed be out in January. Reportedly "Hold It Against Me" features production by both
Dr. Luke and
Max Martin. Britney Spears' last album
Circus hit #1 and included two top 10 singles with
"Womanizer" going all the way to #1. The premiere of "Hold It Against Me" will be one of the most eagerly awaited moments of January, historically a very slow period for new music from established pop artists.
