In a
recent interview with the indie music blog Under the Radar, actor
Philip Seymour Hoffman discussed his most recent film, '
Jack Goes Boating,' which also marks his directorial debut. When it came time to think of accompanying music for the movie, Hoffman reverted back to one of his favorite bands:
Fleet Foxes. Hoffman first heard the Seattle-based folk outfit while he was in a coffee shop two years ago. "I was like, 'Wow, what a great song. What is that?' I downloaded the album, and it's a great album," the '
Capote' star said. "So when we were editing the film, I was kind of going through my musical tastes and the sounds [and feelings] of the movie, and that band kept coming to me. So I kept listening to that album thinking, 'There's something here.' And there was."
