When the Foo Fighters perform at a secret concert at a small club in California, USA on 21 December last, the personnel also had a small reunion with former personnel of Nirvana, bassist Krist Novoselic and drummer Pat Smear.

While in their latest album, the Foo Fighters will also perform with Novoselic who plays accordion and bass on the song "I Should Have Known." Not only that, the album was also produced by Butch Vig who last helped Nirvana in 1991. Although this new album have not been given an official title, but the concert was Dave Grohl said he would give the title of this abum as Back Forth. The title was taken from one of their songs on the album are immediately released in the spring of 2011.

In an interview with Rolling Stone that takes place in Grohl's home studio, he says "I feel this album has a lot in common with Nirvana album that I am working on two decades ago, like the song 'Lounge Act' of Nirvana." Grohl adds, "Even snare sound on this album is very similar to Nevermind, Butch was great in that respect. "

"We have three criteria in this album, Hooky, heavy, and analog entirely,"said Butch Vig. Therefore, the new material being worked on is called as a material for most "severe" ever recorded Foo Fighters. The first single from the album "Three Days" emit a distinctive feel of the classic Foo Fighters. While other songs like "Burning Bridge" and "White Limo," really rocks.

Grohl explicitly said this album is a non-ballad album. "When me and the band wrote reffrain to the songs on this album, we felt compelled to give something 'heavy' and show the side of our manhood because we are now getting older,"said Grohl.
